Our Army at War #205 - Joe Kubert art, cover & reprint

Joe Kubert
Our Army at War v1 #205 featuring Sgt. Rock, 1969 - Full of mostly reprints, this issue does boast three new Joe Kubert pages. One serves as an intro to the pre-published stories and the remaining are educational in nature. His best work occurs on the cover, where a temporarily blinded Sgt. Rock stumbles into a Nazi patrol. Figures fill every available space, evoking a claustrophobic feeling. The image is only vaguely related to one of the interior stories, but Kubert’s version (as usual) is far superior. The issue also contains a Kubert reprint from Our Army at War #59. Other artists in this silver age comic include Ross Andru and Russ Heath. This is 140 of 236 Our Army at War issues by Kubert.
