X-Men #10 - Jack Kirby art & cover + 1st Ka-zar

Jack Kirby
X-Men v1 #10, 1965 - An incident leads the X-men to Antarctica, where they discover the lost world of the Savage Land and its primitive inhabitants. Ka-zar makes his first appearance along with his saber-tooth tiger ZabuJack Kirby splendidly transitions the settings from frozen tundra to tropical jungle. The artist also nicely contrasts the modern day super-heroes against dinosaurs and other extinct creatures (see interior page below). Among the many highlights are the Angel's flight from pterodactyls (page 6) and Marvel Girl's telekinetic assembly of a rifle (page 2). Written by Stan Lee, this story was reprinted in Ka-Zar #1. This is 10 of 17 X-men issues by Kirby. Ka-zar would later debut his own series. /// key 1st appearance, 1st cover silver age Ka-Zar, Zabu
