Authentic Police Cases v1 #28, 1953 - In the midst of a prison break, a female accomplice watches as one of her companions gets killed in the attempt. Matt Baker's placement of figures in the fore-, mid- and background effectively extends depth and perspective. Note also how the artist uses the getaway car's headlights to illuminate the scene. Although Baker drew plenty of crime covers, this one was unattributed in some comic book guides.
